It is used as a general anesthetic in all kinds of large and small operations on horses, bovines, sheep, dogs, and cats. It can be safely used alone for diagnostic examinations and in cases where anesthesia is required. It is also used to create short-term anesthesia to facilitate intubation before inhalational anesthetic.
